Nuri Max Steinmann manages part of Blue Action Fund’s grant portfolio and supports the Grant Programme.
Before joining Blue Action Fund, he worked with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) as a Development Advisor for sustainable aquaculture, aquatic research and environmental education in Myanmar, and as an intern in Malawi.
Nuri has a background in marine science and conducted research with the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), the Institute of Marine Sciences Zanzibar (IMS) and the Portuguese Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR).
He holds a BS in Biology from the University of Bremen and completed a joint international master’s degree in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of Algarve and the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.
