Nina works as a program manager at the Blue Action Fund. Her responsibilities include among others analysing and supporting development of project proposals, overseeing the implementation of the grant portfolio, and analysis of the overall programme performance.
Prior to joining the Blue Action Fund, Nina worked as a scientific officer at the German Environment Agency, where she coordinated an EU working group with the goal of preventing plastic pollution in the marine environment. Before that, Nina worked for Particip, managing projects worldwide in the development cooperation sector.
After completing her master’s degree at the University of Bamberg in European environmental policies, Nina received a PhD in Political Science from the University of Bremen. The research for her thesis on marine environmental policy included a stay at the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Washington, DC.
